Various forces, including the police, the military, youth volunteers, and local residents took part in waste collection activities along the coastline near Sun Carival Square in Ha Long city on September 28.
Vollunteers collected garbage along the coast.
Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, the amount of garbage in Ha Long Bay is relatively large and complicated, including broken pieces of aquaculture rafts, branches, leaves, foam beads from broken plastic oyster buoys, household waste, and sunken ships.
A variety of cleanup activities for Ha Long Bay have been held since September 15 in order to restore environmental sanitation to the heritage site to serve tourism right after Typhoon Yagi.
To date some coastal areas have been clean and trash-free following the efforts by local authorities and people.
