Based on Janet's research, CNN Travel has nominated the 20 best soups in the world (in alphabetical order) as a suggestion for tourists. In the list, the definition of soup is broader, rather than only dishes with water or stewed in water. And the broth must have a delicious flavour, which is an important ingredient that determines the deliciousness of the dish.
Vietnamese beef Pho has a broth that is simmered for many hours with cinnamon, star anise, and other spices that warm the body to create a "wonderful aroma" for the dish. Pho is also the most internationally known dish in Vietnamese cuisine.
There are many versions of pho such as beef pho, chicken pho, kidney pho, beef stewed pho and stir-fried pho. However, the most original and most popular is rare beef pho. Nowadays, chefs also add more toppings to beef pho for diners to choose from such as well-done beef, tendons, and brisket.
