Located in Tan Nghia Hamlet, Ninh Gia Commune, Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province, Pongour Waterfall is about 50 kilometers from Dalat City, a journey that takes roughly an hour. The waterfall cascades gently from a height of 40 meters and stretches over 100 meters in width, flowing across seven natural rock tiers to create mesmerizing layers of frothy water.

Beyond its striking appearance, Pongour Waterfall offers visitors a tranquil escape into nature. Surrounded by a 2.5-hectare forest, the area is home to diverse plant life and ancient trees that have withstood the test of time. Here, visitors can enjoy the cool, refreshing water, the soothing sound of cascading streams, and the melodic calls of forest birds.

The waterfall’s allure is further enhanced by its naturally stacked rock formations, seemingly arranged without rhyme or reason, adding a raw and untamed quality to the landscape. The cascading streams converge into a large emerald-green lake at the base, creating a picturesque setting ideal for camping, relaxation, and absorbing the stunning scenery.

In 2000, Pongour Waterfall was officially recognized as a national scenic site. It is unique among Vietnam’s waterfalls for hosting an annual festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month, coinciding with the Lantern Festival. During this vibrant celebration, the area buzzes with cultural and recreational activities organized by the local community, offering visitors a glimpse into the region’s rich traditions.

Pongour Waterfall can be visited all year round, but each season offers a distinct experience. From July to November, during the rainy season, the waterfall is at its most dramatic, with powerful torrents of water cascading down the rock tiers. In the dry season, the waterfall’s streams flow more gently, offering a peaceful and crystal-clear charm.

Whether you seek the roaring drama of the rainy season or the serene beauty of the dry season, Pongour Waterfall promises a magical encounter with nature.
