Located to the east of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Thuan is a coastal province that attracts tourists for the imposing landscapes. The mountains lie from west to east and reach the beautiful beaches.
Binh Thuan province has perhaps the most diverse collection of ecosystems in a single province that make Binh Thuan a promising place for ecotourism. In less than hour’s drive from Phan Thiet, you can reach immense gold, red and white sand dune, enormous red sand canyons, mangroves marshes with incredible animal life, tropical rainforests, rocky mountain, islands, coral reefs, waterfalls, revers, caves, exotic beaches, lakes, deserts lanscape with cactus and cobras, coconut groves and bamboo forests, plantations, dry scrub forest, brackish and fresh marshland and much more yet undiscovered. Beside the ecosystems, Binh Thuan is famous for beautiful beaches. Off Phan Thiet (the capital of Binh Thuan) 24 km to the North East is Mui Ne, an ideal tourist site and a source of inspiration for artists.
Mui Ne is called a coastal resort town in Binh Thuan. Tourism has transformed Mui Ne into a resort destination since 1995, when many visited to view the total solar eclipse of October 24, 1995. The most impressive sight in Mui Ne is the huge golden sand dunes which have inspired a great number of art photographers and movie produces. The place is suitable for rest and relaxation all year round. Several beaches in Mui Ne now remain its pristine scenery and pure atmosphere.
Due to the low rainfall and cool ocean breezes, Mui Ne has some of the best weather in Southeast Asia. Traveling to Mui Ne, visitors can take sea bathing, playing water sports such as surfing, parachute pulling, playing golf and go fishing.
Also worth visiting in this area include: Suoi Tien (Fairy Spring), the Ong Hoang Building, and the Po Sha Nu Cham Tower (about 5km out of Phan Thiet on the way to Mui Ne). There are also many great architectural sites such as towers, communal houses, pagodas, temples, shrines, and tombs. Coming to Binh Thuan, tourists will have chances to enjoy lively cultural activities including festivals, traditional customs, dancing, and traditional music take place in Binh Thuan.
