The tranquil beach of Tien Thanh is sometimes called the second Mui Ne in Binh Thuan Province by locals and tourists alike. Tien Thanh, though, is more of a well-kept secret and in the new resort, tourists can enjoy the sea breeze, sunshine and relaxation without mingling with the growing crowds of Mui Ne, 15 kilometers down the road.
Tien Thanh is like Mui Ne a decade ago when the popular destination was serene but now it is a tourist hotspot with so many resorts, shops and service facilities to cater for the influx of both local and international visitors and is now dubbed “Kingdom of Resorts.” Of course, this change is not appreciated by some tourists who want to escape to a weekend hideaway after a long week at the office or long-haul flights.
The Tien Thanh beach area does exactly that and presents a haven of serenity away from the hustle and bustle of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet City for short or long haul breaks. In Tien Thanh you are awoken from a deep sleep not by early morning crowds of visitors but the sound of gentle waves clapping against the shore.
Guests can view the sun rise from the east before strolling on the beach to look for shells when the tide recedes away, and they can watch locals catching fish, shrimp and snails near the shore. Many tourists take snapshots of bamboo basket boats swaying on the waves as fishermen try to net young lobsters for sale to shrimp farms near and far from Binh Thuan Province.
This little hidden gem is rare enough that there are not many resorts along the Tien Thanh beach area. One of them is Sand Hills Beach Resort & Spa which is situated around five kilometres from the heart of Phan Thiet City. This property owns 200 meters of private white-sand beach with 18 bungalow and villas in service on three hectares of evergreen plants and flowers.
The resort was designed to reflect an ancient Vietnamese garden residence, and to offer guests comfort, convenience and privacy.
The Tien Thanh beach area is easily accessible by taxi or honda om (motorbike taxi) that guests can take in the center of Phan Thiet or at the Suoi Cat Tourist Area.
