Adventure and seafood delights to be had at Ghenh Rang

Update: 06/05/2011
Ghenh Rang Tourist Area is heaven for adventure enthusiasts and seafood lovers alike. Tourists are quite frankly spoiled for choice as they can take in beautiful landscapes, mountain treks, do a spot of fishing or even have fun in the sandy beaches.

Ghenh Rang, under management of Saigontourist, is located south of the poetic Quy Nhon City in Binh Dinh Province.

Three kilometers from downtown travelers can experience the fantastic scenery and glimpse the Phuong Mai Peninsula, Hai Giang Island and Thi Nai Lagoon.

Ghenh Rang Beach is known for its famous rocks, pebbles and waves. When the waves are gentle, tourists will see millions of pebbles in diverse colors and shapes piling up together under the clear blue water. People call it Bai Da Trung (Stone Egg Beach).

Under Ghenh Rang Hill are many rocks in diverse colors and shapes. Especially striking in the rock beach are giant rocks including one whose pattern makes it look like a human face, a large rock resembles a lion’s head looking towards the sea and another is similar to Vong Phu (Waiting for One’s Husband).

Nearby is Queen Beach. Queen Nam Phuong, wife of Bao Dai King, the last king of Vietnam, would bathe and relax there in the early 19th century.

From the Queen Beach you can go to the garden of rock, which has rocks shaped like animals and peculiar rock eggs nestle amidst the plants and trees.

The path to Ghenh Rang passes by the modest grave of Han Mac Tu, a talented poet who led a tortured life, which leans back to the mountain in a spacious area. Tourists should not forget to burn incense for the miserable poet who suffered leprosy alone. The grave all the year round is drenched in sunlight, clouds, winds, moonlight and the murmurs of the sea.

As for food, Hoang Hau Restaurant is an ideal choice for local specialties and Western and Asian dishes are also available as guests enjoy ethnic artists performing.

Nestled nearby the beach, the spacious restaurant can host 600 diners at once and is an ideal place for parties and conferences. The restaurant also boasts Rocky Bar and Soi Da Café which serves a variety of food and drinks and music shows.

Ghenh Rang Tourist Area is located on Hoang Mac Street at the foot of Quy Hoa Hill, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.
