Update: 18/12/2008
Denmark will provide DKK 1.46 million (USD 254,400) for central Quang Nam province to increase its environmental management capacity, the Danish Embassy in Hanoi announced on Dec. 16, 2008.
The project is part of a DKK 20 million scheme to support capacity development for environmental planning and management, which falls within the framework of a Vietnam-Denmark Development Cooperation in Environment (DCE) programme worth DKK 250 million.
The six-year programme, starting in 2005, is being implemented in Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Nghe An, Quang Nam and Ben Tre provinces.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Bao Anh, who is in charge of Quang Nam’s project, the funds will be used on the review of the strategic environment assessment for local socio-economic development plans and personnel training in the field.
