Mui Ca Mau Park designated for Ramsar Convention

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has allowed the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the People’s Committee of the southernmost province of Cà Mau to finalize a dossier on Mui Ca Mau National Park joining the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance.

Under Decision 142/2003/QĐ-TTg, Ca Mau National Park, which is located in Đat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District, has a total area of 41,862.

This is an ecological system of natural salt-marsh forests with high values in terms of bio-diversity, landscapes, environment, culture and history.

The national park targets to serve as a standard ecosystem for the country, region and world at large.

It plays an important role in preserving the environment, reducing erosion and protecting production and lives for coastal residents as well as the habitat of creatures.
