Hungary willing to help Vietnam protect environment

Update: 10/02/2009
Hungary has been paying attention to the environment protection work in Vietnam, said the Senior State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Water Lajos Olah during his visit to Vietnam from February 5 - 7, 2009.
The Hungarian Secretary affirmed that his country is willing to provide Vietnam with its wastewater treatment technology using biological solution.

“We want to build a wastewater treatment centre in Vietnam and cooperate in protecting the environment in Ha Long Bay,” he said.

According to the Organica Eco Technologies Corporation Inc Attila Bodnar, the technology will help Vietnam reduce the wastewater treatment expenses by 20 to 30 percent as compared with other technologies.

Lajos Olah also noted that Hungary will provide a EUR 100 million credit for projects related to environment in Vietnam including personnel training, medical and domestic wastewater treatment.

The two sides are preparing for the signing of a EUR 50 million aid from Hungary for a safe water supply and civic management project, said Eximbank executive director Zoltan Bodnar.
