Update: 10/04/2012
On April 4, 2012, in Hanoi, representatives of Management Board of Environment and Sociality Responsible Tourism Capacity Development (ESRT) sponsored by EU and SNV’s High Impact Tourism Training for Jobs and Incomes (HITT) signed a memorandum on cooperation.

The cooperation between the two projects funding for Vietnam’s tourism will help avoid overlapping, and achieve common goals with greater efficiency. This is the first step based on the results of cooperation mechanisms between donors/projects from Donor Organizations Conference for Vietnam’s tourism organized by ESRT in May 2011.

In the framework of the cooperation carried out in 2012 – 2013 period, ESRT and HITT projects will coordinate to implement some activities such as training for home stay management staff on basic standards, customer service, sales of value-added products and marketing at low costs; training for tourist guides in local villages; training for staff on Food and Beverage Service (based on Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills Standards- VTOS) in some local communities.

To ensure successful and effective training outcomes, the ESRT project will invite Vietnamese and international experts to train and assist to develop training materials. For its part, HITT project will build training program and materials, so as to implement Training Programs for Trainer for target groups such as women and ethnic minority people, particularly in eight northwestern mountainous provinces.
