Fortuna Hotel (Ha Noi) impressed with saving energy solutions

Update: 09/05/2012
Fortuna Hotel Hanoi is located near central Ha Noi on Lang Ha Street, Ba Dinh District, with about 10 minutes walking to the Viet Nam Exhibition Center (Giang Vo Exhibition) and 40 minutes by car to Noi Bai airport.

As a 4-star hotel of international standards in Viet Nam, Fortuna Hotel has become an ideal choice for many domestic and foreign customers. Apart from modern and luxurious architecture and professional services, Fortuna Hotel attracts a variety of customers thanks to the motto of doing business combined with protecting the environment and saving energy.

Outside, the hotel stands out thanks to green trees and glass walls. The design helps the hotel to utilize solar lights and reduce use of lighting equipment. Office windows from the fourth floor are made of dark glass. Dark glass not only cools the rooms but also helps to use solar lights. Glass is also used on stairs which need to be lit all day and night to use solar lights.

Inside the hotel, lighting system is designed appropriate with needs of users. In the main hall which must appear luxurious and elegant, the hotel uses energy saving PLC (Philips Linear – Compact) bulbs. In dining room, LED lamps are used to highlight dishes and increase the interest of guests. In addition, T5 and T8 fluorescent compact bulbs are used in many places such as the offices, kitchen, stores and parking area.

Beside the saving lighting system, the hotel also uses intelligent elevator system. The hotel has about 11 elevators to serve guests and staff. When an elevator is called, the one nearest to the person will run to him. This method helps the hotel save a lot of energy.

Air-conditioner system consumes the largest amount of electricity. To reduce energy consumed, the hotel uses air-conditioners with spot cooling system which are made in New Zealand. The spot cooling devices are installed at different places. Users operate them directly depending on their demands.

The hotel also uses sanitary ware made by Caesar Viet Nam which is outstanding by features as saving water, protecting environment.

Thanks to those solutions, the hotel won the third prize in the contest “Energy Efficiency Buildings” 2010 with the results of saving 18 TOE, equal to about VND 252 million per year. So in the recent years, Fortuna Hotel continues to business with the motto of sustainable development and environment protection.
