Japan helps protect environment at Ha Long Bay

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has recently reviewed the project on assisting the establishment of a resource circulation system with local people’s involvement at Ha Long Bay, in Quang Ninh province, in the 2009-2012 period.
After three years of implementation, the project helped local people with measures to convert discharged rubbish into organic fertilizers, organized courses to train pioneers in protecting the environment and raise local people’s awareness of sustainable environmental protection…
A JICA’s representative said the agency will continue to assist Quang Ninh in fully solving pollution at the bay, through using bio-fuels.
