UNESCO aims to Conserve Vietnamese Ethnic Culture

The Vietnamese Union of UNESCO Associations has decided to establish the UNESCO Association for the Conservation of Vietnamese Ethnic Culture.

The announcement was made at a September 29 meeting in the northern province of Thai Binh. Accordingly, the Association aims to contribute to promoting and preserving the cultural values of the Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Tran Van Sen will assume the Presidency of the association, which represents the provinces of Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Hanoi, Haiphong and HCM City. All are expected to have a voice on the executive committee of the association.

The newly-formed association marked its debut with a performance showcasing aspects of Vietnamese cultural identity.
