The event aimed to share experiences and promote technology transfers during the Polish Deputy Minister of the Environment, Beata Jaczewska's, official visit to Vietnam from October 8-9.
Participants discussed planning for waste management, renewable energy development and energy conservation in Vietnam, as well as completing the 2005 Environment Law to limit the negative impact of socio-economic development on the environment.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen said that Vietnam is keen on building a green economy through developing environmentally friendly technology and saving energy. The forum is also an opportunity for Polish enterprises to learn about investing in Vietnam, he added.
Deputy Minister Jaczewska affirmed that Poland will cooperate with Vietnam and transfer the latest technology for managing industrial waste and optimizing energy consumption, in addition to innovative solutions for wastewater and sewage treatment.
Polish-funded environmental projects especially those related to green technology will help strengthen the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries. Many Polish enterprises have been keeping a close watch on the Vietnamese market to seek investment opportunities, and the first Polish-Vietnamese joint venture in this field has recently been established.
