On Dec. 12, in Ha Long city, The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) jointly held a workshop on concept introduction and responsible tourism promotion in Vietnam.
At the workshop, participants have discussed and shared experiences in the way in which responsible tourism could be promoted in Vietnam in particular and at worldwide level in general. The workshop aims to help Vietnam tourism sector to find out effective measures to foster responsible tourism in the perspectives of environment, society and economic benefits. The participants all highly appreciated the operation model and achievements of the travel agents in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh.
In addition, the participants also focused on various topics, namely: practical issues of responsible tourism; suitable model of responsible tourism in Vietnam; the way in which green tourism could be developed and environmental protection is ensured , and the roles of responsible tourism in the heritage protection.
This workshop is one of the events within the project enhancing capacity for Vietnam tourism sector in implementing the tourism development strategy till the year of 2020 and in the vision of 2030. The project is sponsored by the AECID with the aim of developing tourism in sustainable and responsible way in accordance with Vitenam’s environment and society.
