It takes tourists more than one hour from Ha Noi to get to Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area, a favorite destination in Hoa Binh Province. The area was established in an immense space of mountains and forests in 2004 by An Tran Chassedieu and her husband who desired to develop green-tourism and preserve the traditional cultural features of the Muong ethnic group.
The tourism area has a total area of over 25ha surrounded by a complex of 100ha forests and hills of tea trees and lakes. In the middle of the area is Phong Lan Building designed with a blend of the architectural style of the stilt-houses of Vietnamese and houses in Cote D’Azur in the south of France, the homeland of An Tran Chassedieu’s husband. Scattered on hillsides under the lush gardens or near Dap Dom Lake are 12 country-seats where tourists enjoy fresh air from nature.

The owner of the tourism area takes full advantages of favorable conditions endowed by nature to form an eco-tourism area with beautiful landscape of streams, lakes, hills and forests and the simple life of the Muong ethnic people.
An Tran Chassedieu said “We established the eco-tourism area because of our love for nature and the two countries of Viet Nam and France. We decided to call the eco-tourism area Vit Co Xanh because the image of ducks is familiar to Vietnamese farmers and reminds me of the peaceful landscape of the countryside in France.”

Visiting the area, tourists not only mingle with the beautiful nature but also learn about the distinctive cultural features of the Muong people through their habits, customs and cuisine. Tourists also have a chance to go to a mountain market and enjoy spa services with traditional methods of the Muong.
Thanks to the combination of green-ecotourism and traditional cultural features of the Muong ethnic people, the eco-tourism area has become a favorite place for relax on weekends.
