Since September, 2012, Yen Duc Commune of Dong Trieu District, has introduced a model of community tourism, deployed by Indochina Junk JSC. With this kind of tourism, each farmer can become a tour guide. Because of this feature, the tourism model is attracting more and more international guests, it also helps to diversify and professionalize Quang Ninh’s tourism.
After a day visiting Ha Long Bay, the world Natural Heritage Site, the family Lepoittevin, from France, came to Yen Duc Village in Dong Trieu District to discover the cultural characteristics of a farming-based village in the North of Vietnam.
“The tranquility and beauty of this village are special. We adore the lifestyle and the culture of the people here. They are hardworking and friendly…it would be sorry to have missed this visit.”, said Lepoittevin, a tourist from France.
Visiting Yen Duc Village, international guests can enjoy cultural activities, singing, dancing and water puppet shows performed by the farmers.
"Watching their performances, I cannot believe that they are actually familiar with work in the fields. Their life is interesting and their culture rich.”, said Grancine Boitart, a foreign tourist.
The project to develop tourism in Yen Dc Village was started in 2008 and became a reality in September, 2012, with 30 local staff. Since the beginning of Feburary, the village has welcomed more than 1,000 guests from Europe, USA, France and Great Britain…
To achieve these promising results is partly thanks to the decision to attach cultural tourism development in the villages with local economic growth.
