Tuyen Quang: 1.9 trillion for Francois' Langur conservation

Confronting the distinction of endangered Francois’ langur, community-based conservation project is implemented in the district of Lam Binh (Tuyen Quang) with a total budget of nearly 1.9 trillion.

The project, conducted by People Resources and Conservation Foundation (PRCF - a non-governmental organization in Vietnam) helps raise people awareness and protect the species and biodiversity in Thuong Lam, Khuon Ha (Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province). PRCF will cooperate with local authorities to deliver leaflets on preservation of Francois' Langur and protection of more than 2,000 households. In addition, the project coordinates with the Lam Binh district’s Department of Education and Training to organize writing and drawing contests on Francois’ langur livng environment for local high school and junior high school students. PRCF gives out recommendations for community-based nature tourism activities and supports activities for protection of langur populations Moreover, the Foundation helps the province find funding and build institutional framework for environmental services in the province.
