The 2nd family temple in Hoi An opens

(TITC) – On July 13, 2013, the Center for Culture and Sports of Hoi An City coordinated with Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation to open the tourist spot of Nguyen Tuong family temple. This is the second family temple opening to the public in Hoi An in addition to Tran family temple.

Nguyen Tuong family temple built in 1806 associates with the names of some feudal mandarins in the past as Nguyen Tuong Van, Nguyen Tuong Vinh… and the Tu Luc Van Doan group with famous writers as Nhat Linh, Thach Lam, Hoang Dao…

Located at 18/2 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, next to Japanese Bridge, Nguyen Tuong family temple is also called “Ong Lon Palace” by local people and was recognized as a national historic, cultural and architectural vestige in 2008.

The representative of Nguyen Tuong’s descendants said: with the support of the Center for Culture and Sports of Hoi An City, the family has improved and re-arranged the worshiping space and displayed the works of Tu Luc Van Doan group in the temple.

The opening of Nguyen Tuong family temple offers tourists a new choice of tourist spot in the old city of Hoi An.
