Thanh Hoa Province will carry out a project to protect the biodiversity of Ben En National Park which is financed by the Vietnam Conservation Fund (VCF) with total expense of nearly VND 1 billion.
The project aims to enhance management capacity of the National Park's management board and local officers; to boost the relationship between the management board and local community by applying sustainable model in using and exploiting natural resources at 3 selected villages in the area.
The main content of the project is to improve management capacity of management board, local officers and local community and develop benefit-sharing mechanism between involved parties, and enhance forest protection. Through training courses, managing officers will have chance to study conservation management skill; regulations on forest management and protection and local community's role during the progress; managing and patrolling to prevent illegal hunting and wild animal smuggling.
Besides, the project will also implement various activities in order to raise awareness of biodiversity conservation, forest and wildlife protection at other villages...
