Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in collaboration with the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia has organized a seminar on green economy in Vietnam.
At the conference, many experts believe that it is essential to have a new development model towards sustainable growth and promote green growth.
Regard to Vietnam, the task that set for green growth is to voluntarily reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from 8 to 10% in 2020 compared to 20% of 2010 with the support of international support. Green production to promote green industrial development and agriculture according to the environmentally friendly structure, technology and equipment, green lifestyle and sustainable consumption will have promoted.
To achieve these goals, awareness of people and relevant agencies to support implementation should be propagated. Greenhouse gas emissions through the development of sustainable organic agriculture will be reduced. The competitiveness of agricultural production will be enhanced. The development of green economy to increase employment and income will be promoted. At the same time, there must be mechanisms to encourage people and businesses to focus towards cleaner production.
