Ly Son MPA to be built

According to Quang Ngai provincial People Committee, the province is building a scheme to build Ly Son marine protected area with a purpose of connecting the protection of natural resources, biodiversity with eco-tourism development.

Under the scheme, 4,270 hectares is planned for marine protected areas Ly Son with a total investment of about VND 37 billion. 1,625 hectares of coral and 319 hectares of seaweed and grass will be recovered.

In addition, the marine protected area includes: experimental station and  environmental monitoring; community education exhibition house, coastal checkpoint, house of MPA management board. The scheme also proposes measures to ensure the livelihoods of local peoples.
