KaWaTech supply water to Dong Van karst plateau

According to the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, the province is cooperating with Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources, along with German expert team in research and testing application the project: Vietnamese-German Cooperation for the Development of Sustainable Karst Water Technologies (KaWaTech).

KaWaTech project implemented at Seo Ho hydroelectric power station (Ha Giang) is a part of the cooperative program between the two Governments of Vietnam and Germany with the aim of research and development of technologies of mining and sustainable use of water resources in some areas of karst mountains, as well as offering the solution to sustainable water supply and drainage for the people in Dong Van karst highland.

Pham Minh Giang, Vice Director of Department of Science and Technology of Ha Giang, said that in order to implement the KaWaTech project, the involved sides are going to improve Seo Ho hydroelectric power station (Dong Van) as well as build the water pipe and storage tank systems. At the moment, German hydrological specialists together with Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources are studying. The project is expected to start implementing in the middle of 2015.
