The Prime Minister has issued a decision on the list of scraps permitted to be imported from abroad for production materials.
Accordingly, there are 36 scraps permitted to be imported from abroad for production materials such as gypsum; small grain slag (slag sand) from the manufacture of iron or steel; the chemical elements doped for use in electronics, in the form of plates, sheets, or the similar form; waste and scrap of plastics of polymers of ethylene (PE): spongy, un-solid; recovered waste paper or paperboard (waste and scrap): kraft paper or kraft paperboard or corrugated paper or paperboard, unbleached; copper, aluminum waste and scrap...
This Decision shall apply to the importation of scraps from abroad for production materials and not to the operation of temporary import for re-export, border-gate transfer, transit of scraps through the territory of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to lead and coordinate with the related ministries and branches for construction and issuance of the national technical regulations on environment for scraps in the Appendix of the list of scraps permitted to be imported from abroad for production materials. The decision comes into effect from February 5, 2015.
