The Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently sent correspondence to the People’s Committees of Ha Noi and other provinces and cities across the country regarding activities in support of the earth hour 2016 in Viet Nam.
In this regard, communication activities in support of the earth hour shall be organized in March 2016 in order to attract all agencies, organization and people to participate in the campaign. The campaign shall mobilize organizations, agencies and people to turn off the light and other unnecessary electrical equipment during the earth hour period from 20h30 – 21h30 on 19/3/2016.
Viet Nam officially joined the earth hour campaign since 2009 with activities being organized in 6 provinces and cities. In 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the contact point that coordinates the earth hour campaign activities in Viet Nam with a series of activities which are incorporated into the operations of the National Target Program on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency. Up to now, 63 provinces/cities across the country organize activities in support of the earth hour campaign.
