Tay Giang tourism year operated

At the opening ceremony, People’s Committee of Tay Giang District received the Certificate of Vietnamese Heritage Tree for the population of 725 valuable and rare Fujian cypress trees and two thousands- year- old Ficus bengalensis trees were recognized by Viet Nam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.

 

Besides, the decisions of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized “tang tung- da da” dance, “ly” singings and speaking art of Co Tu ethnic as National Intangible Herritage.

 

On this occasion, Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province also organized a visiting program to the forest of Fujian cypress and opened central village to serve tourists located in the depth of the forest at A Xan Commune.

 

This forest has more than 1,200 Fujian cypress trees, located on Zi'lieng peaks, at an altitude of 1,500 meter above sea level. With the recognition that population of Fujian cypress trees as Viet Nam Heritage Trees, this region will enjoy the incentives prescribed by Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.

 

Dr. Vu Ngoc Long, Director of Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology said the Academy in the last year has decided to build a research project to establish a database on this Fujian cypress forest to basis for establishing the first National Park for Reservation Natural Fujian cypress of Viet Nam.
