“Viet Nam Sea and Island Week” event will be held in Nam Dinh

The Viet Nam Administration of Sea and Island will organize the 8th “Viet Nam Sea and Island Week” event from June 6 to June 8 in Thinh Long sea beach in Hai Hau District, Nam Dinh Province. The theme of the event this year is “For a green planet”.

 

This year, a number of activities will be organized such as: meeting to celebrate the “World Oceans Day” and “Viet Nam Sea and Island Week”; launching volunteers force to clean the beach, riding parade to propagandize on sea environment; planting trees to protect the seashore.

 

To popularize the event’s theme and meaning, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment kindly requests relevant ministries, sectors, and agencies at the Central level, People Committee of provinces and cities to enhance their propagandizing activities on sea and island; raise awareness, responsibility and capacity to cope with climate change; protect attitude of the Party and the Government on protecting independence, sovereignty, national inviolacy; protect boundaries, sea, islands and airspace; affirm sovereignty of Viet Nam for the two Islands Paracel and Spratly by showing historic and legal evidences.

 

Besides, thematic conferences, workshops and forums will also be held on managing and exploiting natural resources, protecting sea and island environment towards sustainability, serving socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.
