International visitors to Viet Nam sees robust growth in July

(TITC) – International visitors to Viet Nam in July of 2016 estimated 846,311 arrivals, rising 20.8% from the previous month and seeing a remarkable increase of 41.2% over the same period last year, according to the General Statistic Office.

 

Among the total, visitors by air reached 739,849 arrivals, accounting for 87.4%; by sea: 11,528 and by road: 94,934 arrivals, accounting for 1.4% and 11.2%, respectively.

 

Thanks to the figure in July, the total number of international tourists in the first seven months was pushed to 5,552,635 arrivals, surging by 24% over the same period of 2015, including 4,659,925 by air (+28.7%); 86,321 by sea (-22.4%) and 806,389 by road (+8.2%).

 

Most of markets recorded positive growth in comparison with the same period last year such as: Hong Kong (+111.8%), China (+54.5%), Thailand (+37.2%), the Republic of Korea (+37%), Laos (+30.8%), Sweden (+24.3%), Russia (+22.5%), Japan (+12.6%). Particularly, the number of visitors from 5 countries enjoying one-year visa extension under the Resolution 56/NQ-CP of Government from July 1, 2016 has been continuously rising including Italy (+30.4%), Spain (+24.2%), the UK (+23.4%), Germany (+17.5%), and France (+13.2%). 

 

In the first seven months, there were 38.2 million domestic trippers, of which 18.4 million overnight guests; total tourism receipts reached VND 234,978 billion, up 22.9% over the same period last year.
