Hoa Binh Lake to become national tourism area by 2020

(TITC) – On 1 August 2016, Prime Minister has approved master zoning plan for the development of the Hoa Binh Lake national tourist area in Hoa Binh Province by 2030.

 

The Hoa Binh Lake national tourism area is located in the area of Hoa Binh City and 4 districts of Da Bac, Cao Phong, Tan Lac, Mai Chau with 1,200 ha of the core area, excluding water area.

 

Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is striving for recognizing as a national tourism area by 2020. And by 2030, it is targeted to become the largest tourism area in Hoa Binh Province and one of 12 key national tourism areas in northern mountainous area, with special tourism products as experiencing culture of the Muong ethnic minority and sightseeing around Hoa Binh Lake.

 

Hoa Binh Lake tourism area will strive for the target by 2020 of attracting 630,000 tourist arrivals, including 30,000 international arrivals, total tourism receipt of VND 200 billion; the target by 2030 of receiving 1.6 million tourist arrivals, total tourism receipt of VND 1,800 billion.

 

The national tourism area will focus on domestic visitors from Ha Noi and cities and provinces in the Red River Delta, especially those who love weekend holidays, spiritual and cultural tourism, eco-tourism. For international markets, it prioritizes traditional markets of Viet Nam such as France, South Korea, Japan, and Australia.

 

Tourism products to be promoted include eco-tourism (sightseeing on the lake…), historical-cultural tourism (experiencing history and culture of local ethnic minorities, visiting the Hoa Binh hydropower plant, Bo temple festival…), as well as other products such as sport activities, water entertainments, adventure sports; MICE tourism, nature-based tourism; festival and traditional culture tourism; agricultural tourism...
