ABG5 is a great opportunity to promote Viet Nam’s tourism

The Asia Beach Games 2016 will take place in Da Nang City from Sep 24 to Oct 3 with the participating of over 10,000 people.

 

On Aug 23, Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien attended the meeting on the script of the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG) 2016 in Ha Noi.

 

According to Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of Viet Nam Song, Dance & Music Theater, General Director of the Opening and Closing ceremonies of ABG 2016, the art program with the theme “The calling of the sea” for Opening ceremony will celebrate the beauty of Viet Nam’s sea. The performing stage will face the sea while the acts will have the backgrounds of sea and boats.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Thien emphasized that the content of ABG 2016’s Opening ceremony needs to follow rules, practices and principles of international sports events; however it should link with tourism development.

 

ABG 5 is a wonderful opportunity to promote Viet Nam tourism. That’s why the content of the Opening ceremony has to introduce a beautiful Viet Nam with various UNESCO World Heritages, many famous tourism attractions etc. to attract more international visitors to the countries once the event is over.  

 

ABG is a multi-sport event to be held every two years among athletes representing countries from Asia. This year, the 5th ABG will take place in Da Nang, the third largest city in Viet Nam. The event is expected to promote beach sports, connecting with the economy-socio development in Viet Nam, at the same time, to increase the friendship and solidarity among Asian countries, as well as to introduce the image of Viet Nam’s land and people to the world.

 

ABG 2016 will witness the participating of 10,000 people, including 3,062 athletes, 510 coaches and staff from 45 teams of nations and territories in Asia; 588 supervisors, international referees and officials; 826 local referees; thousands of volunteers; 800 reporters of Viet Nam and international media; as well as staff of health, security, transportation etc.
