Ha Noi opens pedestrian zone around Hoan Kiem Lake

(TITC) – From 1 September 2016, Ha Noi City officially opened pedestrian zone around the Hoan Kiem Lake from 19:00 on Friday to 24:00 on Sunday every week. The initiative will be piloted by the end of this year.

 

Accordingly, the pedestrian zone includes streets of Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Le Lai, Le Thach, Tran Nguyen Han, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Lo Su, Hang Dau, Hoan Kiem Lake, Luong Van Can, Hang Bai, Bao Khanh. In these areas, free wifi  is available.

 

Ha Noi also allows 3-5 star hotels in the city and restaurants and bars in the area of Hoan Kiem District to open until 2am.
 
 
In the pedestrian zone, visitors will have opportunity to enjoy a variety of interesting art performances organized at Ly Thai To Monument, Ba Kieu Temple, The Huc bridge or try typical foods of Ha Noi Old Quarter, join in folk games and contemplate exhibited photos on the streets, etc.
 
 
Signposts, parking lots and public toilets are available on the street routes to facilitate local people and visitors.
 
According to the Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, the pedestrian zone as well as amusement activities will contribute to creating a community space, improving living environment and promoting Ha Noi’s culture to domestic and international visitors.
