The Prime Minister has approved a project on restoration and promotion of Tan Trao special national historical relics association with tourism development untill 2025.

According to Decision 2113/QD-TTg (dated November 7th, 2016), the total investment will be VND43.5 billion from the Central budget and the objective program for cultural development. It will be carried out from 2016 to 2020 in Son Duong and Yen Son districts, the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang.
The project aims to preserve and promote values of the relics and complete its facilities to educate patriotism, conduct scientific studies and meet people’s demands in cultural activities.
The Tan Trao relics site has a total area of 2,500 hectares, covering 10 communes in Son Duong and Yen Son districts.
President Ho Chi Minh chose the Tan Trao site as the national revolutionary base and the capital of the liberation zone in the resistance war against the French colonialists.
Many significant historical events happened at the site which led to the success of the August Revolution in 1945. Especially, President Ho Chi Minh had lived and worked at 16 different locations in Tuyen Quang for six years during the resistance war.
