The Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa sea festival 2017, the eighth of its kind, will take place in the south central province of Khanh Hoa on June 10-13, with nearly 50 social, cultural and sport activities.
They include salangane’s nest, fish worship festivals, competitions on fishing and search and rescue at sea.
A new event is the traditional cuisine competition in which visitors could enjoy free food.
The Nha Trang tourism vocational training college plans to cook the largest pot of seafood porridge to seek Guinness Vietnam recognition.
Sport activities such as beach volleyball, football and swimming competitions are also planned for.
As part of the biennial festival, Khanh Hoa Salangane’s Nest Company is scheduled to hold an international scientific seminar themed “Sustainable development of Vietnamese salangane’s nest sector”.
Around 150,000 visitors are expected to visit Nha Trang for the occasion.
The first festival of this kind was held in 2003.
