Over 1,000 artists attend Vietnam International Choir Competition

More than 1,000 artists from 10 countries and territories across the world have participated in the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition, which opened on June 7 in Hoi An city in the central province of Quang Nam.
The competition, co-held by Germany’s Interkultur organisation and the People’s Committee of Hoi An city, is a part of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017.
The five-day event aims to promote culture, heritage and tourism potential of Quang Nam while introducing unique types of choir performances to the public. It is also a chance for Vietnamese artists to exchange performance experience with international choirs.
Besides the official competition, the artists will also perform in a programme named “International Melody” on June 8-9 in Hoi An ancient city.
Exchange programmes between Hoi An city and art troupes from the Republic of Korea will take place from June 11-12.-VNA
