(TITC) – On 19 December 2017, in Ha Noi, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Information and Communications, and People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue organized the press conference to introduce Festival Hue 2018.
With the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development, Hue - One destination, Five World Heritages”, Festival Hue 2018 will take place from 27 April to 2 May 2018.
Festival Hue 2018 will showcase stunning art performance representing different cultures of Viet Nam and different countries and regions around the world. It will especially offer the audience the quintessence of Hue’s cultural and artistic values, inspired by UNESCO-recognized world heritage properties including the Complex of Hue Monuments (1993), Royal Court Music (2003), Woodblocks (2010) and Imperial Archives (2014) of the Nguyen Dynasty and the poetry on Hue royal architectural works (2016).
The event will also assemble diversified and outstanding art troupes from Korea, Israel, Mongolia, Japan, Thailand, China, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Russia, France, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Australia, Morocco…
Various culture, sport and art activities will take place during 6 days, including: “Hue Royal Inspiration” (at night 28 and 30 April), national performance of Chau Van (26-28 April), Ao Dai grand show inspired by Hue's visual arts on Vietnamese silk (at night 29 April), Trinh Cong Son's music concert (at night 28 April), Buddhism artistic program (at night 1 May), the art show “Hue's love songs” (at night 29 April), performance “Cultural Colours” (from 28 April to 2 May)…
Additionally, there will be other activities, such as fine-art exhibitions, the Hue Science Festival, Hue Poetry Festival, Kite Festival, Calligraphy Display, Human Chess…
