Over recent years, Da Nang’s tourism sector has made every effort to make the city a safer and more friendly destination for both domestic and foreign travellers.

In particular, the city has launched the ‘Comfort as Home’ project to encourage local hotels, guest houses, coffee shops and restaurants to offer free use of their restrooms to domestic and foreign visitors. In addition, the ‘Da Nang Smile’ campaign, and the code of conduct applicable to the tourism sector have been publicised widely across the city.
The city is emerging as an attractive destination for visitors from both home and abroad thanks to the practical good deeds made by hospitable and helpful residents, especially those involved in tourism like salespeople, drivers of cyclos and taxis.
Ms Tran Thi Que from Nam Dinh City said that she would never forget her memorable family trip to Da Nang late last year. Que told that her 8-year-old son was suffered from high fever whilst her family was staying in a hotel on Ha Bong Street in Son Tra District. Despite nightfall, the hotel’s staff helped her to catch a taxi and took her son to a local hospital for treatment.
“My family is deeply impressed by the hospitality and enthusiasm made by local citizens”, She added.
In particular, the majority of visitors to the city feel comfortable whilst they go shopping at local shops or having meals at local restaurants because all of them display the prices of their products, and to sell them at the prices displayed.
Ms Ngoc Ha, a shop owner along the Pham Van Dong Beach said that she has always given the top priority to ensure food safety and hygiene to ensure the health of both locals and visitors.
The Head of the city's Tourist Cyclo Team, Mr Nguyen Quoc Thinh, remarked that his team members always exert every effort to ensure the safe of their customers, and enhance the quality of their services, in order to help the city build a more friendly and civilised tourism environment.
Mr Tran Chi Cuong, the municipal Tourism Department’s Vice Director, affirmed that in the coming time the local tourism sector will exert even more efforts to promote the deployment of the ‘Da Nang Smile’ campaign and the code of conduct applicable to the tourism sector.
