Electric bus in Hoi An

Electric bus has become a popular and comfortable means of transport in Hoi An ancient town after 3 months of practical test. It is one of the efforts to build Hoi An as a city of ecology, culture and tourism.

The system of electric buses is run by Hoi An Electric Vehicle One Member Co., Ltd, under Hoi An Public Works Joint Stock company. Hoi An is one of ten cities nationwide to be allowed to put electric bus into the test. Accordingly, there are 6 electric bus routes from the bus station at 330 Ly Thuong Kiet street to Hoang Dieu street (1.2km), to Viettown bus stop (1.1km), to Hoai river square (1.4km), to An Bang beach through Tra Que vegetable village (3.7km), to the port to Cham Islands (9.8km), and to Thanh Ha pottery village (3.8km).

Electronic buses work every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in summer, between 7 and 21 in winter. In the first phase of testing, 30 buses are put into operation, including five 14-seat, five 11-seat and 20 eight-seat electric cars. In the second phase of the trial, there will be 30 more electric buses. At present, there are two types of tickets, one-way and return from VND 15 to 45 thousand per route.

Visitors to Hoi An become interested in electric buses in Hoi An city. More and more tourists choose electronic buses when they come to Hoi An because this kind of transport means is cheap and environment-friendly.
