Encouraging the use of environment friendly products at accommodation establishments and tourist sites

The workshop had the attendance of VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Van Tuan, Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment (MOCST) Tu Manh Luong, Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Ngo Quang Vinh, representatives of  accommodation establishments, tourist sites and  tourism suppliers from cities/provinces in the Central Coast.

Thanks to the development of tourism infrastructure and facilities as well as diversity of tourism products and services, Viet Nam's tourism has developed remarkably. Tourism has been contributing to the economic restructuring; preserving and promoting cultural and natural heritage sites; creating more jobs and improving local people life.

However, Viet Nam’s tourist sites are facing challenges of evironment protection. The workshop was organized to exchange experiences, solution to environmental issues and discuss the topics such as Context and trends of sustainable development; Opportunities, challenges and requirements for accommodation establishmení; Using environment friendly products in bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, restaurants; Using environment friendly fabrics, applying cleaning and waste treatment technology towards environmental protection, saving energy and water; Identifying environment friendly tourist accommodations through sustainable tourism label certification, green label, green building label, energy saving certification.
