Various activities planned for Nha Trang Beach Festival 2019

The People’s Committee of the south-central province of Khanh Hoa has approved the Nha Trang Beach Festival-Khanh Hoa 2019 with nearly 50 art, physical-sport, trade and symposium activities spanning from May 10-13.

The activities, aiming to promote the cultural values of Khanh Hoa and coastal localities, include a “cau ngu” (whale worship) festival, Khanh Hoa birds’ net festival, traditional “bai choi” singing events, and sport competitions.

Besides, a painting exhibition featuring local beaches will be held, along with a children painting contest, street dancing and music nights.

Swimming and beach football tournament will be organized, together with a Muay championship and a beach Physique contest.

Within the framework of the Nha Trang Beach Festival-Khanh Hoa 2019, the organizing board will hold a Vietnamese commodities fair, an international symposium on the development of bird net sector, and a national conference on tourism personnel training in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The opening ceremony of the festival is slated for May 10, which will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television and Khanh Hoa Broadcasting Station.

First held in 2003, the Nha Trang Beach Festival-Khanh Hoa is organized in every two years with an aim to attract more tourists to the locality.

Khanh Hoa has been a famous tourist destination of Vietnam with special coastal cultural value and beautiful beaches such as crescent-shaped Nha Trang Beach,
Van Phong Bay, Hon Gom peninsula and the islands of Hon Lon and Diep Son.

Through the hosting of the National Tourism Year 2019 themed “Nha Trang – Colour of Sea”, Khanh Hoa aims to promote the beauty of seas and islands and tourism products in the province. 

According to the provincial Department of Tourism, Khanh Hoa welcomed 6.3 million tourists in 2018, including some 2.7 million foreigners, and grossed more than 20.5 trillion VND (885.2 million USD) in revenue.

The province strives to serve more than 6.8 million tourists in 2019, a year-on-year rise of 7 percent, including 3.3 million international holidaymakers, and rake in 22.5 trillion VND in tourism revenue.-VNA
