The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) has just agreed to organize the Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week 2019 and celebrate the World Environment Day. The selected locality in 2019 is Bac Lieu province.
Environmental Day 2018
Since both events will be taken place on early June, MONRE decided to organize it in Bac Lieu with the common theme: Keep green the environment and prevent plastic waste.
In particular, Vietnam’s Sea and Island Week is an annual activity of the Government and MONRE is assigned as implementation agency in order to propagandize on guidelines, policies and laws on environmental, sea and islands protection; messages of the United Nations to all levels, sectors and communities, creating a widespread, contributing to raising awareness of the whole society on environmental protection and homeland sovereignty.
The main events of the Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week 2019 will take place on 2 days May 30 and June 1, including: meetings to respond to the World Ocean Day, Marine Economic Forum; exhibitions won high prizes in sea contests; tree planting at coastal areas, etc.,
MONRE requests related units to organize communication activities; develop documents; guide ministries, branches, organizations at central and local level as well as business associations, etc., to organize activities and take practical action to respond to the Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week, Environmental Action Month 2019.
