Mid-Autumn Festival lights up Tuyen Quang City

The annual ‘Le hoi Thanh Tuyen’ (Tuyen Quang City Festival), which is also known as Tuyen Quang Mid-Autumn Festival, officially took place at the city’s Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, in the province of the same name on September 13.

The event was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai; and member of the PCC and Secretary of Tuyen Quang provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam.

An art programme was held to kick off the festival, featuring the participation of artists, actors and actresses from the Youth Theatre, Tuyen Quang provincial Ethnic Art Troupe among others from various places across the country.

At the programme, Politburo member Truong Thi Mai and Secretary of Tuyen Quang provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam presented gifts to poor students who gained outstanding achievements in their studies.

Notably, the giant lantern designs, which depict characters in fairy tales, colloquial stories and famous beauty spots, were showcased in the parade, lighting up the northern mountainous city.

In addition, the alternate performances of unique intangible cultural heritages by artisans and artists from across the country, such as Xoe Thai folk dancing, Then singing and the Central Highlands’ gong dancing, attracted the great attention of delegates and audiences.

The festival ended with a sparkling and colorful firework display, bringing joy to local people and visitors on the Mid-Autumn Festival.
