In an article published on July 21, which compiled 50 of the most breath-taking views in the world, UNESCO-recognised Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark was praised for the magnificent views of its waterfalls, lakes, and diverse plant species.
Non Nuoc Cao Bang is about 300km from the capital city of Hanoi. The 3,000 sq.km geopark is well known for hosting rich biodiversity and many indigenous fauna and flora species.
It is home to fossils, ocean sediment, volcanic rocks, minerals, and especially karst landscapes, which can give researchers an insight into over-500-million-years of Earth’s history.
Other Asian sites that made the Insider’s list included the Danxia geological area and the Great Wall (China), The Taj Mahal (India), Bioluminescent beach at Toyama Bay and Ancient Kyoto (Japan), Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark (Malaysia), Ancient city of Bagan (Myanmar), Supertree Grove (Singapore), and the Historic city of Ayutthaya (Thailand).
