A number of events have been held to mark the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2)
An exhibition is scheduled to be held at Hoa Lo Prison Historical Relic Site in Hanoi.
A book entitled “August Revolution 1945 - the first great victory of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century” has been released by the Ho Chi Minh City Publishing House.
The six-chapter book is co-authored by Prof, Dr and People’s Teacher Trinh Nhu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Tho.
An exhibition entitled “Chap Canh Uoc Mo” (Wings of Dreams) is scheduled to be held at Hoa Lo Prison Historical Relic Site in Hanoi.
The event exhibits historical documents, photos and objects which affirm the great significance of the August Revolution in the Vietnam’s history.
75 years ago, on August 19, 1945, under the clear-sighted leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the entire nation took the opportunity to rise up in revolt toseize and return power to the people.
The revolution’s great victory helped people, formerly slaves, liberate themselves to become the owners of the country, and break the chains of slavery, colonialism and feudalism to establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, marking the dawn of a new era of national independence and socialism.
