Statistics from the provincial Department of Tourism show that the number of tourists coming to Hue in the first half of 2021 has decreased sharply, reaching only about 600,000 arrivals due to the impact of the pandemic.

Compared to the same period in 2020, the number of visitors to Hue this year has decreased by nearly half and is only a quarter compared to the same period in 2019.
International visitors (currently living and working in Vietnam) reached about 15,000 arrivals, down 97% compared to the same period in 2020. Similarly, domestic visitors reached about 590,000 arrivals, a fall of more than 2%. Local accommodation facilities welcomed roughly 385,000 staying guests, down about 31% over the same period last year.
Revenue from tourism throughout the first 6 months reached only 885 billion VND, a plunge of 65% compared to the same period in 2020 and only a fifth of annual revenue in 2019.
