Contest encourages students’ creativity in exploring cultural values

The final round of the competition entitled ‘Creative ideas for the building of cultural tourism products and tourism communication was held on July 26.

The competition attracted nearly 600 students majoring in cultural and tourism from 60 universities and colleges across the country.

After two months of preliminary rounds, the organisers selected 30 outstanding students to form five teams for the final round.

In the final round, the teams were asked to create videos to introduce and promote famous tourist attractions in the country. They shared their creative communicative ways in order to advertise the country's destinations and cultural heritage to the community, especially to young people.

The three best teams with the most outstanding projects, including the Trang An team with the "Night Van Mieu Tourism" project, the Bai Dinh team with the "Heritage within Heritage" project, and the Hoang Thanh Thang Long team with the "Silence of Tam Chuc" project, advanced to the grand finale.

In this round, organisers presented real-life situations, requesting the finalists present issues related to tourism and cultural heritage management, as well as effective strategies for tourism development within two minutes.

As a result, the Hoang Thanh Thang Long team won the first prize. Two second prizes went to the Bai Dinh and Trang An teams, while two third prizes were presented to the Hoi An and Van Mieu teams.

The contest, co-hosted by the Ha Nam provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Tam Chuc Tourism and Services LLC, aimed to provide students majoring in tourism and culture in colleges and universities nationwide with in-depth knowledge of cultural, religious, and tourism issues.

According to Pham Hong Long, Head of the Tourism Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Chairman of the Jury, the competition created a valuable venue for participating students to show off their talent and apply their knowledge and practical experience to create impressive and highly feasible tourism products.

The contest is also an opportunity for students nationwide to exchange, learn, and share creative thinking methods and perspectives in tourism communication, and propose innovative and attractive tourism products.
