Within the framework of the ongoing Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2023 entitled ‘Wow Da Nang’, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches worked with the municipal Youth Union and Lien Chieu District Women's Union to organise a marine environment festival themed ‘Blue Ocean’ on Saturday.
During the festival, Miss Peace Viet Nam 2022 Tran Thi Ban Mai along with more than 800 people collected rubbish at the beach and poplar forest in the south of Xuan Thieu Tourist Area, as well as participated in the programme ‘Exchange garbage for gifts’ and painting exhibition about environmental protection.
Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Tran Dai Nghia emphasised the significance of the festival in appealing for the community to reduce the use of plastic bags and plastic waste, and join efforts to protect the marine environment, sort waste at source, and increase the reuse and recycling of some types of resource waste. This contributes to making Da Nang beaches become green, clean, beautiful, safe and attractive destinations.
