The Ly Son Marine Protected Area in Quang Ngai Province is home to diverse ecosystems and rich aquatic species, including many types of coral and molluscs, some of which are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. However, due to the impacts of economic development and climate change, the coral ecosystem and rare marine animals and plants are being seriously threatened, making conservation an urgent task.

The carbon footprint in tourism is the total amount of greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), emitted during a trip. This includes emissions from all activities, from transportation, food and beverage, lodging, and entertainment.
“When Quang Nam authorities contacted us about the presence of a group of grey-shanked douc langurs (Pygathrix cinerea) in the area, we came to survey the situation. To our surprise, a small group of locals had been voluntarily protecting the species for years, even though they didn’t know it was rare,” recalled Tran Huu Vy, Director of the Nuoc Viet Xanh (GreenViet) Biodiversity Conservation Centre, when introducing the Tien Phong Group.
