The 2023 Southern Don Ca Tai Tu (traditional musical art form of the south) Festival, competing for the Golden Lotus Awards, opened at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4.
A photo exhibition entitled Duong Lam Ancient Village - 'Doai Land's White Clouds' by photographer Pham Ngoc Diep, also known as Nina May, was held at Mong Phu Village Gate, Son Tay District, Ha Noi City.
(TITC) – On 1st December 2023, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism kicked off the “Displaying of Intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO in associating with tourism development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas” at the Centre for Art and Culture at 22 Hang Buom street, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi.
According to data from the Cultural Heritage Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, about 40,000 relics which are located across the country have been inventoried and categorised in line with the Law on Cultural Heritage.
The growth of craft villages in the province has recently produced a significant driving force, contributing to the beneficial reorganization of the agricultural and rural economies, creating employment, raising income, and improving people’s living conditions. Maintaining, conserving, and developing traditional artisan villages, on the other hand, has several obstacles and challenges, particularly in the process of establishing new rural regions and sustainable rural socioeconomic development.
Vietnam boasts a wealth of cultural diversity thanks to its numerous ethnic groups. As each group possesses a distinct cultural identity, they collectively form a rich and varied cultural heritage. Safeguarding and promoting this cultural heritage fulfils the cultural aspirations of the people while building an integrated Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. It also generates resources for the overall development of Vietnam.
(TITC) - On 27th November 2023, the People’s Committee of Hoi An (Quang Nam Province) announced activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, 24 years since Hoi An Ancient Town was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, 6 years since Bai Choi art singing in Central Vietnam was registered by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
A celebration of the traditional Ok Om Bok Festival and “Ngo” Boat Race of the Khmer ethnic group was held in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on the evening of November 25, attracting thousands of local people and tourists alike.
A special exhibition called “Dong Son Echoes from the Past” opened at the Vietnam National Museum of History, on November 22, as part of activities to mark Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) and the 100th anniversary of the discovery and research of Dong Son culture.
“Tham” is an art exhibition held by Vietnam Truc Chi Art in collaboration with the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Ha Noi Old Town from November 19 to December 3 at the Cultural Art Center, No.22 Hang Buom Street (Hanoi). This is an activity in response to the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023.
