Meeting media agencies to inform about reopen tourism plan from March 15

(TITC) - On February 21, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) held a meeting with media agencies to inform about proposal to reopen tourism from March 15. VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh and VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc attended the meeting.

On behalf of the VNAT, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong - Director of Travel Department informed about the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on reopening tourism from March 15. The plan is being consulted to report to the Government and the Prime Minister for consideration and decision. According to plan, the regulations are expected to be more flexible.

At the meeting, some questions from press reporters were answered. Regarding whether from March 15, international tourists must register to follow tours of travel agencies, VNAT’s Chairman said that according to the proposal from March 15, all tourism activities will be opened, so international tourists do not need to follow the tour and they can choose the form of travel themselves.

In addition, questions related to the medical treatment, visa policy, tourism human resources, upgrading of technical facilities also were commented.

VNAT’s Chairman emphasized that the opening of tourism should be done in a safe, scientific and effective manner in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister. VNAT (under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) will synthesize the comments of the relevant ministries and sectors to complete the opening plan, then report it to the Government and the Prime Minister for consideration and decision in the coming time.
