Nghe An tourism is officially open, ready to welcome international tourists

(TITC) - On 18th March 2022, Nghe An Province organised the conference on resuming tourism and welcoming international tourists in 2022

Overview of the conference

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of Nghe An Department of Tourism stated, it has been a struggling and challenging time in the past 2 years for the authority, people and tourism business community of Nghe An Province. Due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, many tourist service establishments and tourism service businesses had to temporarily suspend operations, some maintained their operations in moderations, a majority of human resources in the tourism industry and service became unemployed, and had to switch to other occupations to earn a living. In the beginning of 2022, with many flexible policies, especially since 15th March, Vietnam has officially resumed fully tourism activities. 

Until now, there are guidelines and policies to implement the resumption of domestic and international tourism activities. The important task is the organisation to perform effectively, safely, timely and bring the maximum results. This requires close cooperation, coordination, and the active participation of all levels, sectors, localities and businesses. Based on the tourism potential of Nghe An Province and the experiences of provinces/cities and foreign countries, Nghe An Province needs to coordinate and synchronously implement many related measures, from immigration policies, disease prevention measures, tourism information, stimulation and promotion works, to the development of tourism products, the preparation of human resources, promotion of digital transformation, etc.

Following the direction of the Government; guidelines in prevention and against the COVID-19 pandemic of the Ministry of Health and Guidance on reopening tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghe An has implemented the resumption of tourism activities and welcoming international tourists under the new normal, from 15th March 2022.

At the conference, the delegates also shared the issues of ensuring the prevention and against of the Covid-19 pandemic to resume tourism activities; organising cultural and sports activities to attract tourists; tourism recruitment task, etc.
